ONORA SYSTEMS Honor Is Within

About Onora Systems — Tucson’s Local Security Experts

Locally owned, fully licensed, and committed to protecting Southern Arizona homes and businesses since 2020.

Meet the Founder

Sean McBride, founder of Onora Systems in Tucson, AZ

Sean McBride

Founder & CTO

Onora Systems was founded by Sean McBride — a security and operations technology professional with over 20 years of hands-on experience and licenses in seven states. Sean’s career spans the full depth of the security industry: from network administration and field installations to executive leadership as CTO of Connect Security for nearly a decade, to managing direct technical services at Brinks Home, one of the largest security providers in the country.

Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management — which means he doesn’t just install technology, he understands the systems behind it. That combination of business education and field expertise is rare in the security industry, and it shows in how Onora Systems designs, installs, and supports every project.

He started Onora Systems in 2020 with a simple conviction: Tucson deserved a security company that actually answered the phone. Too many homeowners and business owners were stuck dealing with national chains that routed calls to out-of-state centers, sent rotating technicians who didn’t know the property, and locked customers into contracts with hidden fees. Onora Systems was built to be the opposite — a local company where the owner is personally invested in every installation.

“Onora” means honor.

It’s not just a company name — it’s a standard. Do what you said you’d do, charge what you quoted, and stand behind your work. That philosophy has driven Onora Systems from a one-person operation to a trusted name serving the greater Tucson metropolitan area.

In Sean’s Words

“My passion is to help businesses and families implement new technology that enhances their security, comfort, and efficiency. I have a proven track record of recruiting and training top-performing technicians, delivering high-quality customer service, and managing large-scale projects and contracts. My mission is to provide reliable, innovative, and affordable solutions that meet the needs and expectations of my clients.”

Our Story

Sean’s path to founding Onora Systems wasn’t a shortcut — it was two decades of climbing through every level of the security industry. He started in the early 2000s doing hands-on network troubleshooting and technical administration in the Greater Tucson Area. By 2008, he’d earned his B.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management and was already managing installation teams as a District Installation Manager.

From there, Sean spent over 12 years at Connect Security — rising from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Technology Officer, where he oversaw operations and technology strategy for nearly a decade. He later served as Senior Manager of Direct Technical Services at Brinks Home, one of the largest residential security providers in the nation. Along the way, he earned security and low-voltage licenses in seven states and became an Alarm.com Certified Technician.

He founded Onora Systems in 2020 because he saw what large security companies got wrong: impersonal service, rotating technicians who didn’t know the property, and contracts designed to lock customers in rather than earn their loyalty. Headquartered in Tucson, Onora Systems is built on the opposite model — a local company where the owner is personally invested in every installation.

Utilizing our technology partnerships, we strive to enhance our customers’ everyday experiences. We dedicate time and resources to research and test the product offerings from the best manufacturers — that’s how we can confidently recommend equipment that fits your property, your budget, and your long-term goals.

Today, we serve the entire greater Tucson area with a full suite of security, automation, and audio/video services. We don’t have a call center. We don’t subcontract our installations. When you call Onora Systems, you’re talking to someone who knows your system because they built it.

What We Stand For

Quality Over Volume

We’d rather do 10 installations right than 50 installations fast. Every system is designed for the specific property it protects, not pulled from a one-size-fits-all playbook.

Honest Pricing

We quote what the job costs. No bait-and-switch, no hidden monitoring fees, no surprise charges on installation day. The price we give you is the price you pay.

Local Accountability

We live and work in Tucson. Our reputation is our business. When you need service, you call us directly — not a 1-800 number that routes to someone who has never seen your property.

Proudly Serving Greater Tucson

We provide security, automation, and audio/video services throughout the Tucson metropolitan area, including:
